6 YouTube Yogis to Follow
This may be a recurring theme on my website and channel, but research shows that yoga is wonderful for your mental and physical health.1 Have you been wanting to get into it, but don’t have the time, resources, or perhaps confidence to hit up a studio? Fear not, for there are thousands of free videos on the ever-growing YouTube. Start your practice from the comforts of your own home and check out these 6 YouTube yogis to follow.
Oh, the woman who changed the trajectory of my life, the queen of YouTube yoga, the hilarious and calming Adriene Mishler. Adriene is funny, down-to-Earth, and extremely knowledgeable. With nearly 700 free videos and last time I checked, 12.2 MILLION subscribers, Adriene knows how to help you find what feels good.
Adriene has videos for beginners to advanced yogis as well as beautiful themes like “Yoga for a Fresh Start” and “Yoga for Social Anxiety.” There are also several 30-day challenges on her channel, if you don’t feel like having to search.
I am extremely grateful for what Adriene has done and for not only introducing me to the power of breathing and the mind/body connection, but for helping me to realize what is within my control and what isn’t. She’s a beautiful, funny human and has changed lives all over the world.
If you prefer no talking in your at-home practice, the gorgeous German Mady Morrison is the one to follow. While she does speak in some of her videos, she also offers several, beautifully edited versions with no speaking. Mady offers full body workouts as well, and many of her videos have over 10 million views. Check out this 15 minute full body stretch.
I only recently discovered Charlie Follows, but I really like her content. Her voice is super soothing and she offers more challenging sequences. She also posts lots of informative YouTube shorts showing how to work your way up to certain poses. I love her scenic backgrounds and I’m excited to watch her channel grow.
For the more spiritual side of yoga and meditation, Kassandra’s your girl. With over 830 videos and 2.3 million subscribers, Kassandra has a lot to offer. There are several 30 day challenges as well as themes like “Peaceful Yoga Flow”, “Libra Yoga”, and “Chakra Yin Yoga.” You can choose from vinyasa styles (more of a workout) to yin yoga styles (more about flexibility and relaxation). She tends to include several modifications for poses, which is really beneficial to yogis of different levels.
If you’re not gonna float your own boat, who will? ;) Of course I’m going to promote my own channel. I am kind and funny, I’m doing all my own recording and editing, and I love the message behind my channel's name.
As a person who once struggled with overwhelming anxiety, especially when it came to my child and motherhood, I am a firsthand example of how connecting to the breath is a life-changing resource for alleviating nerves. When your cup is full of anxiety or depression or whatever else you got goin’ on, it’s simply impossible to fill others’ cups. I know now that we must love ourselves first in order to be a better friend, parent, and human to others.
With beautiful themes, positive affirmations, and a whopping 47 subscribers, I aspire to one day share the huge yoga platform with these other beautiful, insiring women.
Okay, this is actually not a yoga channel. The About section reads “Here you'll find content on: self development, self love, habits, healing, mindset, purpose, guided meditations, positive affirmations, and more.” If you’re not feeling a yoga sesh, Aileen’s voice is like butter and her uplifting guided meditations are bound to make you feel better. Plus, she has over 2 million subscribers and 800+ videos.
There you have 6 YouTube yogis to follow. Amongst all of them, there’s one major common theme: gratitude and kindness. In a world that seems to be filled with negativity, we could all use a little more of those attributes. So, give these gorgeous girls and entrepreneurs a follow, and manifest the life you desire!
